The concept of Femaleness in Hinduism

In ancient Hindu culture women and men were of equal status. At that time women’s power and human values were respected. In fact word “mahilo” itself means to be worshipped. On the one hand the female is seen as divine, co-active and supportive and on the other, she is considered to be the epitome of what is danger, carnal and civil therefore in constant need of control and subordination by man. Hindu religions texts abound in opinions about women who are simultaneously both elevated and devaluated, so Hinduism presented presents a duality statw of women.

According to Hinduism the female the female is first of all divine, holy and pure therefore coorshipped. In Hinduism creation start with god lead, which is con ceired as unity containing both male and female principles. Brahma, the creator is supposed to be half male and half female. At the moment of creator Brahma causes his body to separate in to two district parts.

‘purushace’ and ‘prakriti’ and it are the union of this male and female principle that which leads to creation.  In the hindu perspectives we find texts that have conditioned the minds of people to such a great extent that erne today the attitude towards women remains unchanged. A women has been considered as the female principle complementary the male principle only when in union with the male. Thus she is to subjugated and controlled as a daughter, as wife and as a mother even today.

Hinduism is deeply rooted in our society because of that our society is patriarchal in which traditions history and social attitudes place severe limits on women’s participation in public life that’s why we are hot able to bring gender equality even in educated society also.

Women’s empowerment, women’s right gender equality are the most burning issue of to days society but things are only in book claw not implemented in society, violence, exploitation, rape, sexual abuse, sexual slavery in force prostitution and cross cultural practices of witch burning are the major social evil of our society, which lead to get rid as soon as possibilities if we really wants’ to bring change in society which is possible by the change of our attitudes, customs and beliefs which has been passed from generation to generation.In ancient Hindu culture women and men were of equal status.
