The Rights of Animals by Brigid Brophy

The Rights of Animals by Brigid Brophy

This argumentative essay, The Rights of Animals, is written by Brigid Brophy, which is refutable for people who are no longer vegetarians, but animals have certain rights.

Animals that are killed for food are not bad and of themselves to be killed. Many vegetarians and animal activists contradict themselves by attempting to prevent an animal from being killed for food when, in reality, the animal they are attempting to prevent is also a meat eater who kills another animal for food to live in

Humans raise and kill animals for sustenance under the impression that we have a moral duty to spare them suffering and fear. There is no justification for torturing or subjecting animals to needless suffering, yet there are numerous humane ways to put an animal to death. I believe that while hunting and murdering animals are totally unethical, it is good if someone is doing it for food. Overall, animals have pain and suffering like humans that we must not forget.
